In the opinion column in the midweek edition of the Messengger, I commend the determination and courage of my 21-year-old cousin confined to a wheelchair due to a form of muscular dystrophy.

Nothing has deterred her from her goals. And although she’s adapted and made-do with her situation, there is an opportunity to ease her struggles. She has entered a contest through the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association to win a modified,wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
