NEW EMS ADMINISTRATOR NAMED – Randall Preuninger, a current supervisor with Wise County Emergency Medical Services, was named administrator of the department Monday, replacing Charles Dillard, who is retiring April 30. County commissioners made the hire at the recommendation of a committee that included County Judge J.D. Clark, Fire Marshal Jeff Doughty, Emergency Management Coordinator Cody Powell and Precinct 2 Commissioner Kevin Burns. Dillard recommended Preuninger for the post, as did Doughty, Powell and the other EMS supervisors and employees. Preuninger has worked for Wise County EMS since July 2010. RAIN BACK IN FORECAST – Thunderstorm chances will increase throughout the day for our area, and some strong to severe storms will be possible, according to the National Weather Service. We have a 50 percent chance of rain today, with rain chances increasing to 80 percent tonight. Wednesday’s forecast includes a 90 percent chance of rain. Today’s high temperature is expected to reach 74 degrees.

LIBRARY CRAFT – Kids of all ages are invited to the after school fun at the Chico Public Library 4 p.m. today. Participants will create their own “shrinky dink” key chains. Call Michelle at 940-644-2330.

MOBILE FOOD PANTRY IN CHICO – U-Turn World Ministries will host a Tarrant Area Food Bank mobile food pantry 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the church, 306 N. Texas 101 in Chico. An 18-wheeler will deliver food to the location, and the service is available for any family in need in Wise County. The mobile food pantry will be at the church the fourth Thursday every month.

WEIGHT LOSS – T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 5 p.m. every Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, 600 S. Trinity, in Decatur. For more information call 940-389-5759.

GREEK LIFE – The Wise County Panhellenic sorority alumnae will host an informational meet and greet 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday in the meeting room of the Decatur Hampton Inn. All Wise County area women who are current high school seniors and/or currently in college who are interested in learning more about sorority recruitment (rush) and college Greek life for the Fall ’19/Spring ’20 semesters are invited. UNIDOS MEETING – The Bridgeport Police Department will hold its next meeting of the UNIDOS program 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bridgeport. Meetings will be held entirely in Spanish, and the intent of the program is to serve as a resource center that will provide assistance in areas of importance to the Hispanic community. RETIREMENT RECEPTION – The City of Decatur will host a retirement celebration for Linda Meador 3-5 p.m. Friday at the Decatur Public Library. Meador has worked for the city for 30 years.

RHOME TO DISCUSS MUNICIPAL COMPLEX – The Rhome City Council will discuss renovations to the old school building for a municipal complex at its 6:30 meeting tonight. The council will also review bids for replacing doors and windows for the building to secure it.

FUNERALS – Memorial service for Barbara Summers, 102, of Decatur will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Dorothy Jean Lambert, 82, of Boyd is 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1 in Decatur. Hawkins-Decatur is handling arrangements.

SERVICE for Grady Scott, 63, of Bridgeport is 2 p.m. Monday at Jones-Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family visitation is 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
