A man was struck and killed on U.S. 380 in front of Imperial Fabrication east of Decatur Thursday. The wreck happened around 8:45 a.m. Wise County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Craig Johnson said a male in his late 20s apparently walked out in front of an 18 wheeler and was struck near the entrance of the facility. The man, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Jan Morrow. “At this point, it appears intentional,” Johnson said. “We’re conducting a joint investigation with the Department of Public Safety due to the unattended death and accident.” The victim was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Wise County EMS, Decatur Fire Department, DPS and the sheriff’s office responded to the scene. More information will be posted as it is available at WCMessenger.com
