The driver of a Chevy Avalanche truck was turning on Business 380 just east of the Shell Gas Station in Decatur and failed to give right away to a Toyota Sienna van which struck the truck, Decatur Police Sgt. Keith Hilton said.

There were nine people inside the two vehicles. Four from the van, driven by 32-year-old Wichita Falls resident Henry Luu were transported to receive medical attention. The driver of the truck, 64-year-old Paradise resident Koung Kim refused medical transport.

Hilton, who was at the Shell gas station at the time of the wreck, said road conditions did not play a factor in the accident.

Decatur Police, Decatur Fire, and Wise County EMS responded to the scene.

Braxton Carroll was driving on U.S. 380 at the time and helped assist before first responders arrived.

“I slowed down and I looked up and I saw the two vehicle’s spreading out and noticed they were messed up pretty good,” Carroll said. “I just stopped and helped. Helped get everybody out.”
