Two Alvord athletes committed to play football at Hardin-Simmons University Wednesday afternoon.

Zach Brown and Dain Warnick inked letters to play collegiately. The duo helped the Bulldogs finish second in District 4-2A I.

Warnick was the 4-2A I Lineman of the Year and graded out at 87 percent,

“Ever since I started football, four more years was all I wanted,” Warnick said. “To be at a great school like this is awesome. I learned a lot [at Alvord].”

Brown was a first-team 4-2A I selection and graded out at 88 percent. He recorded 25 pancake blocks.

“It means a lot to me,” Brown said. “You don’t see many other people from this area going to the next level. It’s a pretty good experience for me. I love the coaches at Hardin-Simmons.”
