Paradise seniors Maddi Terry and Kaycee Martin signed letters of intent to play collegiate athletics Monday afternoon.

Terry inked her commitment to play softball at Ouachita Baptist University. Martin will run track and cross country at East Texas Baptist University.

In her junior season with the Lady Panthers, Terry was a District 8-3A first-team selection, hitting .317 with one home run. She drove in 19 runs and had a 0.848 fielding percentage.

“This means a lot,” Terry said. “Ever since I was little I wanted to play college softball. To be able to accomplish that was one of the best feelings in the world.”

Martin cracked the top 25 in 3A Region I cross country, placing 22nd at the region meet last fall with a 12:45.30. Martin was also a first-team District 8-3A selection in basketball the past two years.

“This means I get to go on and pursue my dreams of running,” Martin said. “It feels like I finally reached my goal.”
