Lowery drops 35 in 8-4A opener

Decatur’s Grace Lowery scored a game-high 35 points as the Lady Eagles routed Springtown 76-29 Friday night in the District 8-4A opener.

Lowery knocked down five 3-pointers, scoring 22 points in the first half. Katie Hale added 16 points, and Gracie Isham tossed in 11.

The Lady Eagles improved to 21-4 and 1-0 in league play. They have won nine straight games.

Decatur traveled to Krum Tuesday.

PEASTER 45, BOYD 43

The Peaster Lady Hounds erased an early deficit to keep its unblemished District 7-3A record intact, knocking off Boyd 45-43 Friday night.

The Lady Jackets built an eight-point lead in the first quarter but were outscored 21-13 in the second half.

“It was a tough game,” said Boyd coach Erica Warner. “We shot really well in the first half and went cold in the third quarter. We stayed in it when Peaster made a run. I was proud of the way we played.”

Paytin Bullard led Boyd with 19 points. The loss dropped the Lady Jackets to 1-3 in 7-3A.

Boyd headed to Tolar Tuesday.

BROCK 62, PARADISE 34

Brock ran away from Paradise 62-34 Friday night.

The Lady Panthers fell to 3-13 and 2-3 in District 7-3A. Paradise hit the road to Breckenridge Friday.

MUENSTER 48, ALVORD 33

Muenster outscored Alvord 21-12 in the second half, edging the Lady Bulldogs 48-33 in the District 11-2A opener Friday.

Taylor Maag led Alvord with eight points. Tawni Hamilton chipped in seven.

The Lady Bulldogs are 10-10 and 0-1 in 11-2A. Alvord traveled to Callisburg Tuesday.

ERA 61, CHICO 16

Era routed Chico 61-16 in the District 11-2A opener Friday.

The Lady Dragons fell to 6-7 and 0-1 in 11-2A. Chico went to Poolville Tuesday.

SLIDELL 37, HENRIETTA MIDWAY 20

The Slidell Lady Hounds stymied Henrietta Midway 37-20 Friday night.

Slidell improved to 20-2 and 3-1 in District 22-1A. The Lady Hounds hosted Forestburg Tuesday.
