Ingram, Meyer tabbed to all-state

Bridgeport’s Ashley Ingram and Slidell’s Bailey Meyer were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 4A and 1A all-state teams.

Ingram led the Sissies to their first regional tournament appearance in 10 years. The sophomore helped Bridgeport average 49.9 points and finish second in District 8-4A behind eventual state champion Argyle.

Meyer and the Lady Hounds won their third straight district title and posted a 32-3 record. Slidell advanced to the Region III final before falling to Dodd City – one win shy of the state tournament.

Meyer’s teammate, fellow senior Cate Zuniga, was named to the Class A Region III team.

Decatur freshman Grace Lowery was tabbed to the 4A Region I team. Lowery averaged 13.1 points and shot 41 percent from the field.

Bridgeport junior Emily Vidal was also named to the 4A Region I team.
