Decatur’s Renier Reyes finished fifth in the 114-pound division at the state powerlifting meet over the weekend.

Reyes lifted a total of 880 pounds. He squatted 315, bench pressed 210 and hoisted a deadlift of 355 pounds.

His teammate, Julian Casias, took eighth in the 275-pound weight class. Casias squatted 675, benched 390 and deadlifted 500.

“I’m very proud of both of these boys and the way they competed all year,” said Decatur coach Scott Warner.
