Clyde knocks out Lady Panthers: Paradise eliminated in area round

Clyde knocked the Paradise Lady Panthers out of the playoffs Saturday afternoon in Graford, coming away with a narrow 3-2 victory in the second game of the 3A Region I area series.

After falling behind 2-0 early, Paradise tied the game at 2 on an RBI-groundout by Mariah Kirbie. The Lady Bulldogs stole home in the seventh for the winning run.

Kendall Candioto threw a complete game. She gave up three runs on three hits, striking out 10.

Paradise finished the regular season in third place in District 7-3A and beat Holliday in the first round for its first bi-district title since 2015.
