Area schools prepare for postseason: Softball playoffs begin this week

The softball regular season has ended and several area teams are gearing up for the playoffs.

Decatur is coming off its second straight undefeated district title. The Lady Eagles went 8-0 in league play and did not allow a run.

Their 4A Region I bi-district round opponent will be Mineral Wells. The two will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in Springtown for a single game.

The Paradise Lady Panthers took third place in District 7-3A, finishing 10-4. Paradise will play Holliday (14-9-1), the second seed from District 8-3A, in a bi-district series.

Game 1 is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in Bowie. Game 2 is set for 8 p.m. Thursday. Game 3, if necessary, would be 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs round out the county teams that qualified for the postseason. Alvord finished fourth in District 12-2A and will face Santo, the champion from District 11-2A, in the 2A Region II bi-district round.

Game 1 is slated for 7 p.m. Friday in Springtown. Game 2 is 6 p.m. Saturday. A time for Game 3, if necessary, has yet to be decided.

Game 2: 6 p.m. Saturday in Springtown
Game 3, if necessary: TBD
