Alvord could not hold a six-point halftime lead Friday in the 2A Region II area round, falling to Archer City 75-71.

The Bulldogs led 41-35 at the intermission. Kolbi Cox led the comeback effort for the Wildcats, pouring in a team-high 23 points. He shot 57 percent.

Archer City outscored Alvord 21-13 in the final frame to seal the win and advance. The Bulldogs end their season at 21-12.

Alvord won their first playoff game in 14 years in the bi-district round when they defeated Tom Bean.
