The Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce banquet promises to be a showstopper with Pete’s Piano Bar Saturday. But if you don’t already have a ticket, you may be out of luck. As of Friday, there were just a few seats left.

News to come out of the banquet: Bridgeport Citizen of the Year, plus other awards. The Messenger will be there to cover it all.

Weekend planner 2

Eighter from Decatur is rolling into the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Saturday.

So if you’re galavanting around, you’ll likely run into some familiar faces. Unfortunately, the Chamber of Commerce is sold out of official tickets, but there’s no reason you can’t hit the show on your own. It is also the closing day, so it’s now or never … until 2020.

Weekend planner 3

The Slidell Lady Greyhounds and Bellevue Lady Eagles will need a third meeting to decide the top playoff seed out of District 22-A.

The two will square off at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bridgeport High School.

The two teams split decisions in district play. The winner will not only be the league’s top playoff seed but also get a bye to the area round.
