EASTER FUN – Hundreds of fun-seekers hopped, bopped and found a good time at the City of Bridgeport Easter Eggstravaganza Carnival Sunday at the Bridgeport Community Center and Lawdwin Ballfields. Easter is Sunday, and many cities and organizations are holding events this weekend.

EASTER IN BOYD – The Boyd Parks and Special Events Committee will present the city’s first Easter Egg Hunt 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at James Snodgrass Park. It will feature egg hunts for various age groups and will also include food trucks, snow cones and the Easter Bunny. The event was rescheduled from last week due to rain.


EASTER AT THE HILLS – The Hills in Decatur will have an Easter Egg Hunt 4:30 p.m. Friday. Cookies and ice cream cones will be served following the hunt.

VICTORY EGG HUNT – Victory Family Church in Decatur will hold an Easter Egg Hunt after its 5 p.m. service Saturday.

SUNRISE SERVICE – Pecan Street Mission in Decatur will host the second-annual Community Easter Sunrise Worship at 7 a.m. Easter morning on the steps of the Wise County Courthouse lawn. Trinity Street Coffee Bar will provide free coffee.

METHODIST EGG HUNT – The First United Methodist Church in Decatur will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for various age groups from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. Sunday. There will be a light breakfast and craft rotations.

EASTER BRUNCH – The Decatur Conference Center serves an Easter brunch buffet April 21. Call 940-393-0280.

EASTER PHOTOS – Joe and Lisa Duty will be taking Easter photos 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Rhine Realty, 305 S. Trinity St., in Decatur.


NEW HOPE FELLOWSHIP EGG HUNT – New Hope Fellowship Church near Greenwood will hold an Easter Egg Hunt 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Park.


EASTER EGG DROP – Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise will have an Easter Egg Drop at 3:15 p.m. Saturday and another following the 6 p.m. service. A helicopter will drop 30,000 Easter eggs at the event, which will also feature food trucks and photo opportunities.

Also, a number of churches in the county are holding special Holy Week services in the days leading up to and including Easter Sunday. A schedule of worship events were included in advertisements in the Wise County Messenger’s special section – The Easter Story – inserted in the April 13 edition. Copies are still available at the Messenger office.
