Dazzle Me Pink

#1: Pretty in pink

Mark your social calendar, ladies. Wednesday is Dazzle Me Pink – a luncheon and fashion show at Decatur Conference Center that raises money for Wise Health Foundation’s Women Services and Mary’s Gift.

Local boutiques will showcase their spring fashions on the runway, and guests will have the opportunity to give through direct donations, a live auction and raffles.

Mary’s Gift provides free mammograms to patients who might not otherwise be able to afford one.

To inquire about reservations, call 940-626-1384.

Easter

#2: Don’t forget Good Friday

Good Friday is April 19. On this day, Christians observe the commemoration of the crucifixion of Jesus. Although it’s not a federal holiday in the United States, many families start their Easter celebrations on this day.

All Wise County school districts are closed on Good Friday this year, and Alvord, Boyd, Bridgeport, Chico and Paradise are also off Monday.

Tax Day

#3: Tax day

There’s not even a snazzy headline to ease the pain of tax day.

The deadline to file your 2018 federal income tax return is Monday.

Consider this your friendly reminder.

Bunny

#4: Follow those bunny tracks

“Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin’ down the bunny trail, hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way.” (Everybody sing!) The Easter Bunny is expected to make several stops in Wise County, not only at private homes, but also at various public events. Easter Sunday is April 21.

Gitzy Girls

#5: Glitzy Girls

Funky, vintage camping trailers will line the Decatur Square Saturday, April 20, for the sixth annual Glitzy Girls Trailer Park.

Tour the trailers, throw washers, shop and grab a bite to eat, all in the shadow of the Wise County Courthouse. Fun will be had 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
