4 file in DISD election

Four candidates filed Wednesday to fill the two Decatur ISD School Board spots on the ballot for the May 4 general election.

Wednesday was the first day for candidates to file. The deadline for filing is Feb. 15.

Decatur ISD School Board President and artist Cheri Boyd filed to stay in her Place 2 seat, drawing a challenge from financial advisor Jeremy House.

For the Place 1 spot currently held by two-term incumbent Wade Watson, oil and gas broker Thomas Houchin and Costco regional manager Stan Shults filed.

For Decatur City Council, Place 2 incumbent Susan Cocanougher and Place 6 incumbent Randy Parker have filed. Eddie Allen has filed for Place 4.

At Boyd ISD, incumbent Kenneth Shepherd filed for Place 6.
