Karen Bohmfalk

Karen Bohmfalk

Position: Pre-AP English I and speech teacher at Paradise High School

Family: “Married 37 years to Donnie Bohmfalk; children Shelby Bohmfalk, Chris Bohmfalk and Emily Arnold; son-in-law Jim Arnold; cute little grandson: Wesley.”

Experience: “Started teaching in 1981. This is my 32nd year and 19th at Paradise.”

Hobbies: “I love spending time with family and playing with my grandson. We are a family of Aggies, so sports are big. Wesley will be Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2040! I’m active in Wise County Chorus and Christmas in Paradise and Beyond. I enjoy writing plays and have written and produced two with former students.”

Why did you choose education as a profession?: “I knew I loved school. I still do! But the best part of teaching is helping high school students find a personal connection to what they are learning, especially through great literature and through their writing. That’s why I love coaching UIL and directing one-act play so much. These areas are where kids build relationships with others who share their academic and artistic passions.”
