Linda Carol Hodge

Linda Carol Hodge, 69, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in Bowie.

Family has chosen arrangements with cremation, and no services have been planned.

Arrangements were entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Linda was born Feb. 14, 1950, in Pampa to Charles B. and Gloria Jo (Burris) Broxson. She graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1968. Linda attended Howard Payne University and graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 1986. On Dec. 23, 1968, Linda married Roland DeWitt Hodge in Fort Stockton.

Linda loved her Lord and served Him daily. She, alongside her husband Roland, became foreign missionaries. They studied in Costa Rica and later served in Ecuador from 1981 to 1985. Upon returning home, they served in home missions in Colorado. Together they also helped start Pleasant Grove Cowboy Church in Decatur. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport.

Linda has worked for the Department of Aging, she taught ESL in Nocona ISD and enjoyed teaching ladies Bible study classes. She worked in the home building industry in Tulsa for almost five years as a sales and closing coordinator. She also volunteered at MEND Pregnancy Resource Center and Arms Around Broken Arrow Mission in Oklahoma. Her greatest love was her work for Operation Christmas Child.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gloria Broxson; husband of 46 years Roland DeWitt Hodge; and brother Larry Charles Broxson.

She is survived by her children, Charles Jason D. Hodge and partner, Lia Lewis, of Tulsa, Okla., Carol DeAnne McCutchen and husband, Terry, of Wichita Falls and Daniel A. Hodge and wife, Holly, of Burleson; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Jan Broxson St. John and husband, Thomas, of Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
