Jan Buckner

Jan Buckner, 71, of Chico, manager and co-owner of Chico Butane Gas Company, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Decatur.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial in Cumby Cemetery. Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate.

Pallbearers include Ocie Barker, Colby Hunt, Todd Buckner, Randel Buckner, Wilford Buckner, Mark Buckner, Kooper Martin and Grant Barksdale.

Jan was born Aug. 1, 1947, to Buford and Mary Lou (Nunley) Barker in Ft. McKinley in the Philippines. She moved to Chico in 1964 and raised by her parents, Charlie and Mary Vaughn. Jan was united in marriage to G.A. Buckner June 24, 1966, in Chico. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Chico 4-H, the American Dairy Goat Association and a charter member of Chico Young Farmers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her dad, Charlie Vaughn.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, G.A. Buckner; daughters Kelly Martin and husband, Maury, of Chico, Tammy Buckner of Chico and Cindy Barksdale and husband, Arnie, of Chico; grandchildren Haylee, Michaela, Kooper, Taylor, Grant and Cambrie; her mother, Mary Vaughn of Chico; sisters Linda Lucas of Guthrie, Okla., and Debra Jackson of Decatur; brothers Randy Vaughn and wife, Lisa, of Virginia and Richard Barker of Decatur; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to, who flew Jan to MD Anderson for cancer treatments at no cost.
