1 flown from wreck on State Highway 114

A driver who reportedly fell asleep at the wheel on State Highway 114 sustained serious injuries after crashing into an 18-wheeler Monday morning.

Harley Miramontes, 24, of San Antonio, was traveling west on State Highway 114 in a 2019 Ford cargo van that struck a 2007 Freightliner which was stopping at a red light near Shale Creek Blvd in Wise County, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Ricky Hunter.

“The driver, Harley Miramontes, 24, of San Antonio, indicated that he fell asleep while driving,” Hunter said.

Miramontes was flown to Medical City hospital in Denton.

The driver of the Freightliner, Jose Orozco-Hernandez, 51, of Lewisville, was not injured.
