STRANDED BOATER LOCATED – Jack County officials last night located a boater who was stranded on Lake Bridgeport after experiencing mechanical issues with his boat. Wise County Game Warden David Pellizzari said the boater was trying to paddle back to shore for several hours but was found safe around 9:30 p.m.

EDUCATOR RETIREMENT CELEBRATION – Bridgeport Intermediate School will host a retirement celebration for principal Rita Lemoine 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Bridgeport Community Center. Lemoine has been in public education for 43 years as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, vice principal and principal.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP – Alvord Elementary School will hold a Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup for the 2018-2019 school year 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Pre-K children must be 4 years old (as of Sept. 1). Kindergarten children must be 5 years old (as of Sept. 1). Bring proof of residency in Alvord ISD, your child’s birth certificate, social security card and shot record as well as enrolling individuals drivers license for identification. Students do not need to be present.

ABWN LUNCHEON – The Area Business Women’s Network’s regular monthly lunch is 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Decatur Conference Center. RSVP to info@abwn.org by noon today. Cost is $11 for members and first time guests. Speaker is Wise Choices. Bring business cards to network and a door prize.

BUTTERFIELD STAGE DAYS PARADE – Bridgeport Main Street and the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce will host the Butterfield Stage Days Parade 5:30 p.m. Friday in downtown Bridgeport on Halsell Street. Following the western-themed parade, the public is encouraged to stay downtown for shopping and dining. PUBLIC ACCESS TO LIBRARY – The Boyd Intermediate/Middle School library is open to the public between 5 and 8 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday now through May 25 to trade books, access the internet and email, and for students to receive help with homework.

STEM CAMP – Northwest ISD offers all students the opportunity to cultivate their creativity through fun, hands-on experiences at the STEM based TechnoCamp 2018. FUNERAL for Arlon Morris, 85, of Chico is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial at Cumby Cemetery. Family visitation is 7-9 tonight at Hawkins Chapel in Bridgeport.
