DECATUR SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS – The Decatur Lady Eagles will take on Emory Rains in the region final at Prosper beginning today. Game 1 is 6 p.m. Game 2 is 5 p.m. Saturday with Game 3, if necessary, following.

FFA PLANT SALE – Decatur FFA will hold its final greenhouse sale 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the high school. Annuals, perennials, hanging baskets and interior foliage will be for sale. Everything priced to sale quickly.

YOUTH RUMMAGE SALE – Wise County Cowboy Church will hold a Youth Rummage Sale 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Wise County Fairgrounds. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Camp Fund.

HOMECOMING REUNION – The Greenwood Homecoming Association’s annual homecoming reunion luncheon is at noon June 3 at the Greenwood Firehall. Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring a covered dish and/or dessert. The Greenwood Homecoming Association will provide tea and water.

COUNTY DUMP CLOSINGS – Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the Decatur dumpsite will be closed Monday. Boyd and Cottondale dumpsites will be closed Wednesday.

ANIMAL SHELTER SCHEDULE – The Wise County Animal Shelter will be closed Monday for the Memorial Day holiday and will reopen at normal hours on Tuesday.

DRIVER’S EDUCATION – Decatur High School’s driver’s education class starts Tuesday, May 29, at the McCarroll Middle School Multipurpose Building. Participants must be 15 years old by June 18. Class fee is $75, and the driving fee is $225. Payment must be made at the DHS office before the first class. Email jack.reeves@decaturisd.us.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Volunteers are needed for Made 2 Thrive Baseball. Games are 9 a.m.-noon on Saturdays. Contact Claudia Davila at butterfly8480@gmail.com or come out to Kenny Renshaw Park (registration table) Saturday.

SUMMER READING – The Decatur Public Library is kicking off its Summer Reading Club with a party 1-6 p.m. today. At 1:15 p.m. Mayor Martin Woodruff will present certificates to children who have accomplished the goal of reading One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten. Readers of all ages are encouraged to sign up for Summer Reading Club.

FUNERALS – Service for George Ray Hines, 81, of Rhome is 11 a.m. Saturday at Aurora Baptist Church with burial at Aurora Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.

SERVICE for Bobbie Headley, 74, of Paradise is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

MEMORIAL for Harold Sarchet, 90, of Boyd is 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Hilltop Assembly of God in Boyd. Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd is handling arrangements.

GRAVESIDE service for Emma Joan Wilson, 81, of Decatur is 10 a.m. Friday at Plainview Cemetery in Krum. DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton is handling arrangements.
