FUNDRAISER DAZZLES – Wise Health Foundation’s Dazzle Me Pink fashion show and luncheon raised $62,792 for Wise Health System’s Women’s Health Services and Mary’s Gift. Women packed the Decatur Conference Center Wednesday for the ninth annual event, and 10 local boutiques were represented on the runway. A live auction featuring six designer handbags raised about $3,600 with the remaining funds collected through individual donations and raffle ticket sales. STROKE SUPPORT GROUP – The Stroke Overcomers Support Group will have their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Wise Health System west campus, Decatur (rehabilitation cafeteria). This group is designed to assist stroke survivors and their families with hope and information. A Wise Health System physical therapist will discuss continuous rehabilitation. CHICO CLEAN UP – Chico will host a city-wide clean up day 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. A large trash bin will be located at 401 N. Mount St. (at the water tower). No tires, paint or shingles will be accepted. Use is for Chico residents only. It’s free with a current water bill.

BAPTIST COLLEGE REUNION – The bi-annual Decatur Baptist College Reunion is 10 a.m. Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. Ellis will be honored. From 8:30-9 a.m., a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Dr. Ward’s grave at Deep Creek Cemetery.

BUYERS ASSOCIATION BARBECUE – The Greenwood/Slidell Buyers Association is having a barbecue fundraiser in Greenwood at the Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Donations will be taken. Raffle tickets will be sold for a 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistol and a Ruger American 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle.

LUPUS SUPPORT GROUP – The Wise County Lupus Support Group meets 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wise Health System west campus. Call Donna at 940-210-2919.

MARKET DAYS – Wise County Market Days will be opening Decatur’s Community Market Third Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the Wise County Fairground’s South Field. The event will include the Farmers Market, local honey, artisans, crafts, fresh baked goods, food trucks and activities for kids and adults. The Decatur High School FFA will be selling plants grown by students.

RETIRED EDUCATORS MEETING – The Wise County Retired School Personnel Unit will meet Tuesday, April 24, at the Decatur Conference Center. A luncheon will be served, and the program will be presented by Red Shaw photography on “How to take better pictures.” A luncheon reservation must be made to: richardperry@embarqmail.com. Any retired school personnel is welcome to attend the luncheon and meeting.

BOND PRESENTATIONS – Alvord ISD will hold two community meetings to share information and answer questions about the school bond proposition on the May election ballot. The meetings are at 6:30 p.m. tonight and Monday in the Elementary Gymnasium.

FUNERALS – Graveside service for Stanley Lynn McClung, 78, of California is 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove No. 3. Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Evelyn Mitchell, 92, of Decatur is 2 p.m. Friday at Hawkins-Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Alfred Roeber, 86, of Newark is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

FUNERAL for Tammy L. Cato, 59, of Rhome is 1 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Chapel in Boyd with burial at Azleland Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
