RAINFALL REPORT – Wise County received some much-needed rain this weekend. Rainfall totals included 1.2 inches in Decatur and Alvord, 1.12 in Bridgeport and 1 in Greenwood. Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 85.

DECATUR FALLS TO CRANDALL – Crandall mounted a two-out, three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to take Game 2 and the 4A Region II quarterfinal series Friday against Decatur. The Pirates escaped with a 6-5 victory and advanced to the regional semifinal. The Eagles’ season came to an end at 20-16 in coach Tommy Maddox’s first year at the helm.

LADY EAGLES ADVANCE TO REGION FINALS – The Decatur Lady Eagles edged Rusk 3-2 Friday in Game 2 of the 4A Region II semifinal. Sophomore Jordyn Smith hit the go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth to seal the win for Decatur. The Lady Eagles will face Emory Rains in the region final later this week. The three-game series will be played at Prosper. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 is at 5 p.m. Saturday. Game 3, if necessary, would immediately follow Game 2. If Decatur wins, they will advance to the state tournament.

SONFLOWER CAMP – Sonflower Camp for people with special needs is 9 a.m.-noon June 4-6 at Joe Wheeler Park in Decatur. Campers and volunteers should register at sonflowercamp.com ASAP.

DECATUR SCHOOL BOARD – The Decatur School Board will meet 6 p.m. today at the DISD Administration Building.

UTGCD OPEN HOUSE/RIBBON CUTTING – The Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District will hold an open house 1-4 p.m. today at its new home at 1859 W. Texas 199 in Springtown. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. Visit www.uppertrinitygcd.com or call 817-523-5200.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL – The Wise County Democratic Party will hold their monthly social 6:30 p.m. today at 106 S. Trinity St. in Decatur.

FUNERAL – Service for Homer Jackson, 63, of Boyd is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
