WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY – Wise County is included in a winter weather advisory from 3 p.m. to midnight today. According to the National Weather Service, light freezing rain is possible. Small amounts of ice accumulation could result in slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges. Temperatures are expected to remain near or below freezing all day today and into tomorrow morning. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent during the day, increasing to 60 percent overnight.

BASKETBALL SCHEDULE – Tonight’s local district basketball games include Northwest at Azle, Gainesville at Decatur, Bridgeport at Krum, Jacksboro at Paradise, Holliday at Boyd, Era at Alvord, Chico at Perrin and Slidell at GoldBurg.

TECH TRUCK – The Perot Tech Truck, from the Perot Museum in Dallas, will be at the Rhome Public Library 4:30-6:30 p.m. today. The Tech Truck has walk-up, hands-on experiences ranging 10-20 minutes. Activities include a 3-D printing demonstration, 3-D pen activity and building a Vibrobot.

FUNERALS – Service for Yolando Franco, 62, of Chico is 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptizer Church in Bridgeport. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

SERVICE for Charles R. Knupp, 96, of Runaway Bay is pending at Hawkins-Bridgeport.

SERVICE for Gary Webster, 63, of Boyd is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

SERVICE for Richard Bledsoe, 62, of Rhome is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins-Boyd. Private burial will follow at Boyd cemetery. Family visitation is one hour prior to service.

MEMORIAL service for Orval Leon “Popcorn” Chapman, 60, of Canyon Lake is 1 p.m. Saturday at Candlewood Suites in Decatur. He was the father of William Andrew Chapman of Boyd. Brown Owens Brumley Funeral Home in Fort Worth is handling arrangements.
