THURSDAY AT THE FAIR – Today’s events at the Wise County Youth Fair include the market swine show at 8 a.m. followed by the invitational celebrity show and the market lamb show at 4 p.m. The market wether show will follow the lamb show. Viewing of the 4-H, FCCLA and horticulture exhibits will take place 5-7 p.m. All events are at the Wise County Fairgrounds.

RAIN TOTALS – Storms brought more rain to Wise County last night. Rainfall totals included 0.95 of an inch in Alvord, 0.6 in Greenwood , 0.52 in Decatur and 0.5 in Bridgeport. It will be dry and cooler today with a high of 61 degrees.

EARLY VOTING – Another 331 people voted early yesterday in the March 6 primary election. Early voting continues 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today at four voting locations in Wise County: the Wise County Elections Office, 200 S. Trinity St., in Decatur; Alvord City Hall, 215 W. Elm St.; Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave.; and Bridgeport Law Enforcement Center, 1000 Thompson St.

FOOD PANTRY OPEN SATURDAY – The Decatur Cares mobile food pantry will be in the parking lot of the Decatur ISD Administration Building, 309 S. Cates St., 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday. It’s open to anyone in the community who needs help with groceries. The 18-wheeler full of food comes to Decatur the first Saturday of every month throughout the year.

PASTURE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP – A Pasture Management Workshop will be held Wednesday, March 7, at the Bridgeport Community Center, 1102 Lawdwin Ave. Registration is 10:30 a.m., and the program begins at 11. Cost is $10 if you pre-register or $15 at the door. Topics will include: Weed Control Basics and Product Update and Range and Pasture Application Technology. Lunch is included. DR. SEUSS STORYTIME – Dr. Seuss Storytime at the Decatur Public Library is 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The teens in the Decatur Area Reading Council (D.A.R.C.) are hosting a special Dr. Seuss Storytime for children of all ages. For more information contact the library at 940-393-0290.

DAZZLE ME PINK – Wise Health Foundation is holding its 9th annual Dazzle Me Pink Fashion Show and luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Decatur Conference Center. Funds raised support Women’s Services and the Mary’s Gift program offering free mammography screens to underinsured and uninsured women and men of Wise County. GARDEN CLUB – Bridgeport Garden Club, which serves all of Wise County, will hold their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. today at the Bridgeport Community Center. Xyanthe Williams, BSN, RN and Ashley Tietje-Crawford, RN, CCRN will present this month’s program “Healthy Eating Styles.” An extra program on Organic Cooking will also be presented by Raquel Martinez, RN. FUNERALS – Service for Paula Duty Phipps, 56, of Rhome is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

FUNERAL mass for Gloria Garcia Lopez, 70, of Decatur is 10 a.m. Saturday at Hawkins-Decatur. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight and 6-8 p.m. Friday with rosary said at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Gloria Eller of Runaway Bay is pending at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

MEMORIAL for James Ross, 80, of Boyd is 6 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Family visitation is one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

VISITATION for Jonathan DelaRosa, 20, of Bridgeport is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

SERVICE for Don Creacy is 2 p.m. today at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family visitation is 1:30 p.m. today at the church.
