At around 8:50 a.m. the fire was fully involved when Chico Fire arrived at the home located at 500 N. Mount St., said Bridgeport Fire Chief Terry Long.

“I woke up and it was on fire,” resident Bobby Feelye said.

The three residents and another staying at the home were able to escape without injuries. Feelye said he didn’t know what happened to his dogs.

Alvord Fire, Bridgeport Fire, Sand Flat Fire, Decatur Fire and Crafton Fire provided mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point, Long said.

“It was fully involved when we got here,” Long said. “There really wasn’t a whole lot we could do.”
