1 killed in Decatur wreck

One person was killed and two more taken to the hospital following a wreck at the intersection of Trinity and Hale Streets in Decatur around 11:30 Wednesday morning. Few details have been released, but the wreck appeared to involve two vehicles. One occupant from each vehicle was also taken to Wise Health System in Decatur. Roads were shut down in a one block radius from the intersection while the wreck was investigated.

UPDATE at 2:30 p.m.: Decatur ISD sent a message to parents and staff saying that the wreck involved two Decatur High School students in one of the vehicles. One student has returned to school and the other was taken to Wise Health System. The message says the injuries sustained by the students are minor.

More information will be posted as it is available.

The car at left was one of two involved in the Wednesday morning wreck in Decatur. Both occupants of this vehicle survived the crash, but one occupant of the second vehicle, not pictured,  died.
