Decatur senior Satasha Kostelecky and Boyd senior Jordyn Todd joined forces to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star game Tuesday at Arlington Martin High School.

Both girls were on the 1A-4A red team.

Kostelecky and Todd earned all-state honors last season, leading their teams on deep playoff runs. The Lady Eagles went 28-14 and advanced to the 4A Region II quarterfinal. The Lady Jackets went 38-8, losing in the 3A state semifinal.

A disruptive net-front presence at 6-3, Kostelecky was a 4A second-team all-state selection, tallying 131 blocks and 212 kills in 2017. She was the District 9-4A Co-Blocker of the Year and committed to Rice University earlier this year.

Todd set a Boyd school record with 580 kills and helped the Lady Jackets win their third straight district title. She was named to the Texas Sportswriters Association’s 3A first-team and committed to Western State Colorado University in March.

Decatur cheerleader Quinn Helm was named to the 1A-4A cheer squad that was honored during the Texas Girls Coaches Assocation summer clinic Tuesday.
