Track: Thomas places 8th

In her first trip to the UIL track and field championships, Alvord’s Christina Thomas came in eighth place in the 2A discus.

The junior landed her best throw of 91-2 on her third attempt. She opened with an 86-6 but scratched on her other four tries.

Seagraves’ Sirena Minjarez was the discus champion with a 136-11, while Irion County’s Macy McNutt came in second with a 134-5. Sabinal’s Kamryn Chapman took bronze with a 127-3.
