Track: Mitschke finishes 8th

Paradise’s Maddie Mitschke came in eighth place Friday night in the 300 hurdles at the Class 3A UIL State Meet.

The junior, who earned the wild card in her first season running hurdles, posted a time of 47.78 at Mike A. Myers Stadium. That was more than two seconds off her regional time.

Spearman’s Alana Holloway seized gold with a 44.17. White Oak’s Kinsey Smith earned silver with a 45.15, while Dallas Madison freshman Justyce Thomas took bronze with a 45.41.
