Track: Hacker takes 8th

Decatur’s Isaac Hacker ended his high school athletic career Friday with an eighth-place finish in the Class 4A long jump at the UIL track and field championships.

Hacker’s best jump was a 21-9.25 that occurred on his first attempt. The senior, who surpassed 23 feet at regionals, had his next-best jumps come on his final two tries – a 21-7.25 and a 21-6.

Houston North Forest sophomore Demond Demas won with a 23-8.5 on his final attempt, moving from seventh into first. Sealy’s Tyrek McNeese came in second (23-0 .25) while Bullard’s Will McCowin took third (23-0.75).
