Track: Hacker, Maddox advance to state – Isaac earns wild card berth in 800

Decatur senior Isaac Hacker earned a spot at the state meet Friday in the long jump, clearing 23-0.75.

Hacker’s leap earned him a silver medal at the 4A Region II meet at Texas A&M Commerce.

Hacker was one of the Wise County athletes to earn state berths at the 4A meet. He will be joined in Austin May 11-12 by Bridgeport sophomore Jadon Maddux and Decatur senior Christian Isaac.

Maddox finished second in the 100 and 200. He clocked a 10.93 in the 100 and later ran a 21.88 in the 200.

Isaac earned a wild card spot into the state meet after turning in the top third-place time in the 800. Isaac ran a 1:56.59 to claim bronze.

The Decatur Lady Eagles garnered a pair of medals.

Autumn Finney took bronze in the 400 with a 58.70. Mackenzie Whitaker finished third in the high jump, clearing 5-2.
