Track: Eagles claim first, second at Richland Invitational

The Decatur girls track team brought home the gold at the Richland Invitational while the boys claimed silver. The girls won with a score of 131 points. The boys placed second with 132.

Makenna Gantt finished first in the shot put with a distance of 34 feet 7.25 inches. Maddie Kyle got second and Riley Foreman fourth. Gantt and Foreman also earned fourth and fifth in the discus with throws of 87 feet, 10 inches and 87 feet 7 inches.

In the high jump, Mackenzie Whitaker took home the silver with a leap of 5’2. Kallie Boner finished sixth. In the triple jump, senior Autumn Finney earned a bronze medal with a distance of 34 feet, 11.5 inches.

Decatur also claimed a gold medal in the 400-meter girls relay and placed second in the 1600-meter relay.
