Track: Boyd gets second at Ponder

The Boyd Yellowjackets took home silver in the Ponder Relays Thursday. The Lady Jackets finished third.

Alan Gaught finished first in the 100-meters, pacing the field with an 11.34. Connor Richardson finished second in the 3200-meters, clocking a 10:56.59.

Destin Lacey earned bronze in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 19.67 seconds. Lacey finished second in the 300-meter hurdles as well.

Boyd claimed silver in the 4×100 relay, as Robert Barber, Tyler Morris, Colten Lawson and Gaught finished in 45.64 seconds. The team of Wyatt Walker, Morris, Lawson and Gaught finished third in the 4×200 relay, clocking a 1:35.86.

The Yellowjackets continued to rack up points in the relays, taking home third in the 4×400. Gabe Gonzales, Walker, Morris and Lawson finished in 3:35.61.

In the field events, Blake Rodgers leaped 5 feet, 7 inches to claim gold in the high jump. Barber finished second in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, 6 inches.

The Lady Jackets tallied 118 points on the day. Logan Heard finished first in the 100-meters, recording a time of 13.06 seconds. She also won the 200-meters in 30.08.

Mary Miller earned silver in the 400-meters, clocking a 1:09.83. Miller won the 800-meters at 2:44.84. Georgie Tullos earned bronze in the 3200-meters with 14:57.65, and Abby Taylor was third in the 100-meters hurdles. Her time was 18.08.

In the 4×400 relays the team of Miller, Rylee Spencer, Macey McCune and Jenna Goodiger finished third. They ran a 4:37.47.

Chloe Rodriguez was third in discus with a throw of 72 feet. Jacie Cate won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches. Taylor was second in the pole vault, and Alisha Garcia was third.
