Track: Boyd, Alvord dominate Bearcat Relays

The Boyd Yellowjackets won the Bearcat Relays Thursday in Henrietta, scoring 180 points. The Lady Jackets finished third.

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs claimed silver, scoring 144 points. The Alvord boys team finished fourth.

Boyd’s Connor Richardson swept the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. Richardson clocked a 2:07.15 in the 800, 4:53.59 in the 1,600 and 10:24.78 in the 3,200.

Colton Lawson won the 400 with a 51.94. Hayden Etter and Dillon Inman placed second and third in the 110 hurdles.

Boyd won the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400. Alvord placed second in the 4×100 with a 45:46.

Hunter Richey won the high jump for Alvord, clearing six feet. Blake Rodgers got silver with a leap of 5-8.

Dominick Taylor and Bartolo Guevara finished first and second in shot put for Boyd. Taylor launched a throw of 38-5. Guevara had a throw of 37-6.

On the girls side, Logan Heard brought home gold in the 100-meters, clocking a 13.08. Aubrey Mitchell claimed bronze with a 13.71.

Christina Thomas won the 100 hurdles for Alvord with a 16.90. Maggie Wicks finished third for the Lady Bulldogs with a 19.46.

Rylee Spencer won the 300 hurdles, pacing the field with a 51.62. Jocelyn Tambunga finished second for Alvord, crossing the finish line in 51.67.

The Lady Jackets won the 4×200 and 4×400, clocking times of 1:56.99 and 4:39.21. Alvord claimed gold in the 4×100 relay with a time of 54:42.

In the 1,600, Tawni Hamilton claimed bronze for Alvord. She finished in 6:14.62.

Jacey Cate won the high jump for Boyd, clearing five feet. Thomas got silver for Alvord with a jump of 4-8.

Allison Ricketts won gold in shot put for the Lady Bulldogs. She launched a throw of 31-6. Abby Bertlesman was second for Boyd with throw of 28-11.
