Softball: Sissies pummel Gainesville

Bridgeport used a 10-run second inning to romp Gainesville 16-2 Tuesday.

Emerson Coleman, Morgen Davidson and Alexa Holzer all doubled in the second. Davidson and Coleman ended the day with three RBIs each.

Holzer got the nod for the Sissies in the circle. She lasted four innings, giving up two runs on six hits to get the win. She struck out four and walked one.

Bridgeport improved to 1-4 in District 9-4A. The Sissies hosted Sanger Friday.

BOWIE 5, PARADISE 4

Paradise fell in heart-breaking fashion Tuesday night, losing to Bowie 5-4 on a walk-off home run.

With the game tied at four in the seventh inning, the Lady Rabbits sent the Lady Panthers home on a solo blast to center field.

Paradise erased an early four-run deficit to draw even at four in the final frame.

Kendall Candioto got the start for the Lady Panthers. She scattered four runs on nine hits, striking out five and walking four. Kailey Thomas led Paradise at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

The loss dropped the Lady Panthers to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in District 8-3A. Paradise traveled to Holliday Friday.

BOYD 12, JACKSBORO 6

Jordan Salmon had a game-high four RBIs as Boyd slugged its way to a 12-6 road victory over Jacksboro Tuesday.

Kaylee Rutledge and Hannah Radke drove in two runs each.

Kristin Rasbury threw a complete-game, giving up six runs on nine hits. She struck out seven and walked four.

The Lady Jackets moved to 6-16 overall and 4-5 in District 8-3A. Boyd traveled to Bowie on Friday.

ALVORD 17, MUENSTER 2

Alvord rocked Muenster 17-2 on Tuesday in three innings. The Lady Bulldogs collected 15 hits on the night.

Gracie Gose got the win for Alvord. She surrendered two runs on three hits and struck out eight.

The Lady Bulldogs moved to 4-5 in District 11-2A with the victory.

ERA 13, CHICO 12 (9)

Era downed Chico 13-12 in nine innings on Tuesday. The Lady Dragons fell to 4-5 in District 11-2A with the loss.
