Softball: Sissies blast Gainesville

Bridgeport routed Gainesville 16-2 Monday. The Sissies scored 10 runs in the second inning to seal the win.

Emerson Coleman, Morgen Davidson and Alexa Holzer all doubled in the frame.

Holzer started the game in the circle and earned the win for Bridgeport. She gave up two runs on six hits in four innings. She struck out four and walked one. Holzer also collected three RBIs.

Davidson also had a three-RBI day.

Bridgeport will host Sanger on Friday.

HENRIETTA 14, BOYD 1

Henrietta’s bats came alive early in a 14-1 rout of Boyd last Friday.

Kristin Rasbury surrendered 14 runs on 16 hits. Only six of her runs were earned. The Lady Jackets committed five errors.

Sydney Langley drove in Boyd’s only run of the game in the first inning.

The Lady Jackets dropped to 5-16 overall and 3-5 in District 8-3A.

VALLEY VIEW 22, ALVORD 10

Alvord committed 13 errors in a 22-10 loss to Valley View last Friday.

The Lady Eagles scored eight runs in both the first and second innings to quickly mount their lead. Gracie Gose started the game for the Lady Bulldogs. She gave up 14 runs on seven hits, striking out two in two and two-thirds innings.

Alvord tried to mount a rally in the third inning. The Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs in the frame as Abbey Bloomer, Jocelyn Tambunga, Kate Schedcik, Cydney Bailey, Maley Mader and Kinly Walker all collected RBIs.

Alvord took on Muenster Tuesday.

DECATUR 5, SANGER 3

The Decatur Lady Eagles moved to 5-0 in District 9-4A with a 5-3 victory over Sanger Monday.
