The Decatur Lady Eagles won two elimination games Saturday to keep their season alive and claim the 4A Region II quarterfinal title at Prosper.

Decatur will play Rusk later this week in the 4A Region II semifinal. The three-game series will be played at Rockwall. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 is at 7 p.m. Friday. Game 3, if necessary, would be 7 p.m. Saturday.

After dropping Game 1 to Bonham 3-2 in eight innings Friday, Decatur won 10-0 in Game 2 to force a decisive Game 3. Samantha Cantu hit a solo home run for the Lady Eagles in their Game 2 win.

Decatur and Bonham went to extra innings again in Game 3 and again the Lady Eagles came out on top.

Tied at four in the top of the ninth, Brison Hesteande delivered a two-out double to score JT Smith, putting Decatur up 5-4. Tristyn Trull then singled to bring Hesteande around to score, which proved to be the winning run in the Lady Eagles’ 6-5 victory.

Decatur won the series 2-1.
