The Decatur Lady Eagles put an exclamation point on their perfect run through District 9-4A play with an 11-1 drubbing of Sanger last Friday.
Decatur went 10-0 in league play and will take on the fourth-place team from District 10-4A in the bi-district round.
The Lady Eagles averaged 7.7 runs per game during the regular season. Opponents managed just 1.6 runs per game.
Decatur went 14-8-1 last year and 4-6 in district, missing the playoffs. The Lady Eagles beat Krum, the defending 4A state champion, twice this season.
BRIDGEPORT 17, GAINESVILLE 1
Kristin Grooms collected five RBIs and Bridgeport routed Gainesville 17-1 in the regular season finale.
Morgen Davidson got the scoring started in the first inning with a two-run homer. The Sisses racked up eight runs in the third inning. Grooms, Davidson, Baylee Vieth, Jenny Flores, Jillian Hagar and Kasi Martinez all plated runs in the frame.
Bridgeport turned to Katelyn McComis in the circle. She gave up one run on two hits in two innings. She struck out four. Alexa Holzer threw three scoreless innings of relief out of the bullpen.
The Sissies ended the season 2-8 in District 9-4A.
CITY VIEW 11, BOYD 8
Boyd could not complete the comeback last Friday, falling to Wichita Falls City View 11-8.
The loss put the Lady Jackets into a three-way tie with Paradise and Bowie for the final two playoff spots in District 8-3A.
Boyd took on the Lady Panthers Monday at Henrietta in the first game of a three-way tiebreaker. The winner clinched a berth in the postseason. The Lady Jackets trailed 10-1 going into the bottom of the third, but Boyd scored seven runs over the next two innings to cut the Lady Mustangs’ lead to 10-8. Kristin Rasbury took the loss for the Lady Jackets. She scattered 11 runs on 15 hits, striking out four.
Boyd ended the regular season 10-17 overall and 8-6 in district.
COLLINSVILLE 9, ALVORD 0
Collinsville blanked Alvord 9-0 last Friday in the regular season finale.
Kinley Walker took the loss for the Lady Bulldogs. She surrendered four runs on six hits in three and one-thirds innings. Gracie Gose threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen, scattering five runs on three hits.
Alvord finished the year 7-7 in District 11-2A. The Lady Bulldogs took on Era Monday at Valley View in a one-game tie-breaker. The winner advances to the postseason as the fourth seed out of 11-2A.
