Softball: Alvord, Chico players earn All-District honors

Four Alvord Lady Bulldogs and two Chico Lady Dragons earned first-team District 11-2A honors.

Gracie Gose, Maley Mader, Katie Schedcik and Kinley Walker were tabbed to the first team for Alvord.

Mader hit .509 and tallied 17 RBIs. Schedcik batted .400 with a home run. Gose and Walker served as the Lady Bulldogs’ 1-2 punch in the circle.

Gose threw 43 innings and recorded 47 strikeouts. Walker pitched 49 innings and had 43 punch outs. She also hit .490 with 26 RBIs, two home runs and a .545 on-base percentage.

Alvord finished fourth in 11-2A, falling in the bi-district round of the playoffs to Perrin-Whitt.

Chico’s first-team selections included Laynee North and Macy McDaniel.

Utility Player of Year: Payton Reynolds, Valley View

Coach of the Year: Daniel Johnson, Collinsville
