The Eagles were shutout in both of their losses, giving up all of their goals in the second half. Decatur and 6A Rockwall Heath were scoreless at halftime, as Jorge Aguilar made seven saves, including one on a penalty kick.

Last year, the Eagles went 9-8-3, winning their first playoff game in school history. Decatur eventually fell in the third round of the playoffs to San Elizario.

BULLS TAKE TWO OF THREE

The Bridgeport Bulls kicked off their 2018 soccer campaign with wins over Little River Academy and Waxahachie Life before narrowly falling to Mansfield Timberview.

Bridgeport knocked off Little River 3-0, following that up with an 8-1 rout of Life Waxahachie. Seven different Bulls scored in the victories. Juan Amador had three goals.

Bridgeport kept it close with Mansfield Timberview, but Milton Iniguez’ lone goal was not enough in a 2-1 loss.
