Soccer: Bridgeport stays unbeaten

The Bridgeport boys soccer team recorded its 10th clean sheet of the season, beating Burkburnett 4-0 Monday.

Edward Rodriguez, Jesus Aguilar, Eric Aguilar and Miguel Olmos each found the back of the net. The win pushed the Bulls to 14-2 overall.

Bridgeport turned around and beat Wichita Falls Hirschi 6-3 Tuesday. Juan Amador and Edward Rodriguez scored two goals apiece in the win.

Jesus Aguilar and Milton Iniguez added the others. The Bulls entered Friday’s match with Decatur 15-2 overall.

DECATUR 4, BURKBURNETT 1

Decatur beat Burkburnett 4-1 Tuesday behind a hat trick from Daniel Inguanzo.

Ivan Fernandez had the other goal. Sebastian Serrano dished out two assists. Keeper Juan Patino made three saves.

The Eagles improved to 11-9-2 overall and 4-1 in District 3-4A. Decatur trails Bridgeport by a game in the standings. The two squared off Friday night.

If the Eagles beat the Bulls Friday at home, they would move into a tie for first place with three matches left.

GIRLS

BRIDGEPORT 5, BURKBURNETT 0 BRIDGEPORT 2, HIRSCHI 1

The Bridgeport Sissies moved to the top of the District 3-4A standings with a pair of wins Monday and Tuesday.

The Sissies beat Burkburnett Monday by a final of 5-0. Clara Ortiz had two goals. Ashley Ingram, Breana Martinez and Bekah Powers also found the back of the net.

Bridgeport took down Hirschi 2-1 Tuesday. Maddie Cross scored both goals. The Sissies entered their match with the Lady Eagles on Friday in first place in District 3-4A with a 4-1 mark.
