The TGCA 4A all-state selection buried 335 kills and made 164 blocks, leading Decatur to its third state championship in six years. The 8-4A MVP also eclipsed 1,000 career kills during her senior season.

The District 7-3A Co-MVP buried 498 kills to lead the Lady Jackets back to the state tournament. After establishing the school record for kills in 2017, she was named to the TGCA 3A all-state team this season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The TGCA 4A all-state libero made an eye-popping 944 digs, helping the Lady Eagles win the 4A title. A unanimous District 8-4A Libero of the Year selection, Decatur coach Clark Oberle called Wallace one of the best high school liberos he’s ever seen.

UTILITY PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The MVP of the 4A title match did it all for the Lady Eagles. The first-team 8-4A selection distributed 503 assists, put down 238 kills and made 221 digs.

LIBERO OF THE YEAR

Boyd, senior
The backbone of Boyd’s defense made 621 digs, shining during the Lady Jackets’ run to the state tournament. With her guarding the back line, Boyd compiled a record of 140-25 in her four seasons.

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR

Decatur, freshman
The 8-4A Newcomer of the Year was the motor behind Decatur’s potent offense, handing out a team-high 677 assists. She also made 312 digs and served 53 aces.

SETTER OF THE YEAR

The 3A state tournament selection dished out 1,461 assists. The 7-3A Setter of the Year also served 71 aces and made 44 blocks.

Kamryn Frenzel

SERVER OF THE YEAR

The 7-3A first-team selection was lethal from the service line, tallying 55 aces in 2018. She also put down 106 kills and made 396 digs.

FIRST TEAM

The 3A TGCA all-state selection and 7-3A Co-MVP notched 412 kills and made 478 digs, helping Boyd to a second straight state tournament appearance.

Trinity Vinzant
Decatur, sophomore
The 4A all-state tournament pick buried 364 kills, hit .209 and made 423 digs.

Anna Strother
Bridgeport, junior
The 8-4A first-team selection averaged 2.55 kills per set, finishing with 51 kills. She made 16 blocks.

Boyd, junior
The 7-3A Offensive Player of the Year put down 498 kills, making the 3A TGCA all-state team.

Kinly Walker
Alvord, senior
The four-year starter landed 246 kills and made 317 digs. The second-team 11-2A pick also served 50 aces in just 23 matches.

Jentry Lamirand
Decatur, freshman
The 5-10 freshman buried 214 kills while playing multiple positions for the Lady Eagles. She landed the match point in the 4A state title.

Bailey Tompkins
Northwest, senior
The 8-5A Offensive Player of the Year hit .259 and put down 354 kills. She also served 24 aces, made 40 blocks and 171 digs.

SECOND TEAM

Rylee Spencer
Boyd, sophomore
The Lady Jackets’ middle blocker turned away 75 shots while making 138 kills on the way to being named 7-3A Newcomer of the Year.

Christina Thomas
Alvord, senior
The 6-0 middle blocker rejected 54 shots, put down 167 kills and served 52 aces.

Kori James
Northwest, senior
The two-year captain landed 313 kills, hit .207 and averaged 3.12 digs, helping the Lady Texans to a second-place finish in District 8-5A.

Cassie Byers
Chico, sophomore
The District 10-2A first-team selection led Chico with 204 kills, posted a 93.4 serve percentage and made 252 digs.

Haley Barton
Bridgeport, junior
The 8-4A second-team setter dished out 352 assists and averaged 5.5 digs per set.

Ashley Kosman
Paradise, junior
The outside hitter led the Lady Panthers with 169 kills and made 260 digs.

Morgen Andress
Northwest, junior
The Northwest setter tallied 1,071 assists, averaging 8.85 dimes per set. At the service line, she served 34 aces and made 236 digs on defense.
