Northwest survives double overtime scare against Little Elm

Northwest survived a late fourth quarter rally to upend Little Elm 41-34 in double overtime Friday.

The Texans surrendered a 27-14 lead in the fourth quarter after the Lobos got a 70-yard punt return from Brandon Crossley. Little Elm scored first in overtime on a Jordan Hill 13-yard run, but DeMareus Hosey responded with a 24-yard run to force a second overtime.

Austin Ahmad then threw the game-winning pass to Zavion Taylor, connecting on a 19-yard strike to send Northwest home with the victory. Ahmad threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Hosey, the Texans’ all-state running back, ran for 102 yards and two scores.
