Mitschke takes eighth in hurdles

Paradise’s Maddie Mitschke finished eighth Friday night in the 300 hurdles at the Class 3A UIL track and field championships.

Maddie Mitschke runs to an eight place finish in the 3A girls 300 hurdles Friday evening at the UIL Track and Field State Championships being held at the University of Texas Mike Myers Stadium.

The junior, who earned the wild card in her first season running hurdles, posted a time of 47.78 seconds at Mike A. Myers Stadium. That was more than two seconds off her regional time.
Spearman’s Alana Holloway seized gold with a 44.17. White Oak’s Kinsey Smith earned silver with a 45.15, while Dallas Madison freshman Justyce Thomas took bronze with a 45.41.
