The Jacksboro Tigerettes got off to a hot start Tuesday night and never looked back. Holding a 32-11 lead at halftime, Jacksboro cruised to a 57-20 win over the Boyd Lady Jackets.

Behind 14 points from Baylee Thompson, the Tigerettes used their significant height advantage to dominate the interior. The only 6-footer on the court, Thompson wreaked havoc on the glass, corralling several rebounds that led to second and third chances for Jacksboro.

“[Their size] was the difference in the game,” said Boyd coach Erica Warner. “10 of their first 16 points were off second chance shots. I told our girls we are smaller so we have to get position and push them backwards, and we didn’t work real hard to get that position.”

The Lady Jackets were held to just nine points in the second half, as the Tigerettes outscored them 27-9 in the final 16 minutes. Paytin Bullard led Boyd in scoring with eight points, as no Boyd player finished in double figures.

Mia Bounds added five points.

Jacksboro had three players finish in double digits, and were led by Haley Laake, who ended the night with a game-high 16 points.

The loss drops Boyd to 1-4 in District 8-3A play. The Lady Jackets travel to Holliday on Friday.
