Golf: Eagles win shortened tourney

The Decatur Eagles finished first out of 17 teams at a rain-shortened Flower Mound Tournament Tuesday.

In nine holes, Caleb Bennett shot 4-over-par, earning third place. Dayne Chapman also shot 4-over. Cade Montgomery carded a 5-over. Isaac Ille fired a 6-over and Ian Caporale 8-over.


The Bridgeport Sissies won a developmental tournament at Champions Circle. The tournament was the first for two of Bridgeport’s golfers.

The tournament was only nine holes due to inclement weather.

Katie Hudson paced Bridgeport with a 40. Taite Read shot a 47. Maycie Cortez and Veronica Valdez each carded a 50. Jaylon Mogus fired a 60.
