Boyd takes down Paradise

Kaycee Martin’s game-high 18 points were not enough for Paradise Friday, as the Lady Panthers fell to rival Boyd 41-30 at home.

Two different Lady Jackets finished in double figures. Paytin Bullard led Boyd with 14 and Larrin Maxwell added 12.

“Both teams fought hard,” said Boyd coach Erica Warner. “My girls did what they needed to do and we got the win because of it. I am so proud of my girls.”

The Lady Jackets improved to 6-10 overall and 2-0 in District 7-3A. Paradise fell to 1-1 in 7-3A and 2-10 overall.

Boyd hosted Brock Tuesday. Paradise traveled to Millsap.

SLIDELL 59, PRAIRIE VALLEY 23

The Slidell Lady Hounds stayed perfect Friday, routing Prairie Valley 59-23.

Aurora DeLuna led Slidell with 11 points. Terra Ellison, Maddie Meyer and Bailey Meyer each scored 10,

The Lady Hounds improved to 17-0 and 2-0 in District 22-A. Slidell was off Tuesday and is ranked fourth in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class A poll.

DECATUR 53, MELISSA 38

The Decatur Lady Eagles topped Melissa 53-38 Saturday.

Decatur moved to 14-4. The Lady Eagles hosted Mineral Wells Tuesday.

CHICO 37, PERRIN-WHITT 25

Chico improved to 5-6 overall with a 37-25 victory over Perrin-Whitt Friday.

The Lady Dragons traveled to Diamond-Hill Jarvis Tuesday.
