The girls basketball season wrapped up Tuesday and several Wise County teams are headed to the playoffs.

In District 9-4A, the Bridgeport Sissies fell in the regular season finale to Krum, setting up a tiebreaker for the league’s third seed. The two squads, who went 6-4 in district play, met at Decatur with the winner taking the third seed and the loser taking the fourth.

If Bridgeport finishes third, they will play the second-place team from District 10-4A in the bi-district round, either Ranchview or Wilmer-Hutchins. If they finish fourth, they will play 10-4A’s unbeaten champion Lincoln.

In District 8-3A, the Paradise Lady Panthers earned a rematch with Brock in the bi-district round. The two will play at 7 p.m. Monday at Springtown.

Brock knocked Paradise out of the playoffs last season, beating the Lady Panthers 48-38.

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs, the third seed out of 11-2A, will take on Valley View in the bi-district round at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Denton Ryan. Alvord ended district play 6-4.

The District 21-A champion Slidell Lady Hounds finished a perfect 12-0 in their league. Slidell earned a first-round bye, and will play the winner of Fannindel and Yantis in the area round. The date, time and location of the game has yet to be determined.

On the boys side, there is one regular season game left after Friday.

The Bridgeport Bulls, Boyd Yellowjackets and Paradise Panthers have all been eliminated from playoff contention.

The Northwest Texans clinched the District 6-5A title with a win over Azle on Tuesday. Northwest is on a collision course for a rematch with Sherman in the bi-district round.

The Decatur Eagles have clinched a playoff berth out of 9-4A, but it remains to be seen where they will finish. If Decatur wins its remaining two games and Krum loses to Argyle, the Eagles would tie the Bobcats for second place in District 9-4A. Decatur will draw a team from District 10-4A in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

The Alvord Bulldogs and Chico Dragons have both locked up playoff spots out of 11-2A. Alvord will either finish second or third, depending on the results of its last two games. If they win out, they would tie Poolville for second. Chico, meanwhile, is locked into the No. 4 seed. They will likely play Sam Rayburn in the bi-district round. Alvord could play either Lindsay or Tom Bean.

Slidell has locked up the 21-A title and will be the No. 1 seed. They have a first-round bye, and could play either Saltillo, Sulphur Bluff, Yantis or Union Hill in the second-round of the playoffs.
